During our recent New Year celebration at Domaine de Labarthe Maison d'Hôtes, my husband and I were captivated by the charm of this exquisite 18th-century manor house nestled amid lush vineyards of the Cahors region. The luxurious rooms, adorned with antiques and art, offered a peaceful retreat, overlooking beautifully maintained gardens and a splendid heated saltwater pool—truly an idyllic setting for relaxation. Laurence and Guillaume's warm hospitality was a highlight of our stay; they effortlessly made us feel at home while providing delightful breakfast spreads, including fresh pastries and local fruits, served on the terrace framed by century-old olive trees. On New Year’s Eve, we enjoyed a memorable dinner prepared by Laurence, featuring local lamb paired with their own Malbec wine, which added a special touch to our celebration. The tranquillity of the estate allowed us to unwind completely, with the serene sounds of birdsong accompanying our leisurely moments in the gardens. For anyone seeking a peaceful, culturally rich escape, I wholeheartedly recommend Domaine de Labarthe—it's a true gem that beckons to be explored and cherished.
